Father's day is quickly approaching and as I thought about what the perfect gift would be for my husband, I came to the conclusion that the perfect gift couldn’t be bought.
The thing your husband, the father of your children, needs the most is the support of his wife.
He needs to know you will back him up and support his decisions.
He needs to know that when he's not around you're building him up and not tearing him down with your words.
He needs to know you respect his parenting methods.
He needs to know that you think he's a great dad.
He needs to know that you value and appreciate all his hard work as he provides for you and your children.
He needs to know you will choose him over the children; he needs to know you're his wife first.
He needs to know you are thankful for everything he does.
He needs to know that he is the leader of his tribe.
He needs to know you love him.
He needs to know that you pray for him.
Give a man that, and he’ll be the best father he can be. When a man is confident in his wife’s opinion of him, there’s little that can hold him back in life.
So this Father’s day, maybe it’s time to give yourself as the perfect gift. Maybe you need some work in one or more of these areas, just like I do. Maybe the greatest thing your husband could receive this Father's Day is your support...in words AND actions.
Try it, I dare ya. You just might make him the happiest father ever.
